BIOGRAPHY
I was born in 1672. My education was in charge of my father Tsar Alexis I. I officially became the governor of the Russian Empire on 1696. I had two wives and fourteen children, and only three of them survive. I wanted to modernize Russia with ideas from Western Europe, so in 1697 I embarked on the “Grand Embassy” which was a trip to Western Europe; in there I wanted to learn manufacturing techniques and customs. When I traveled to Western Europe I dressed in plain clothes so nobody could recognize me. I founded the city of St. Petersburg in 1703. I modernized many industries and made new roads. I founded schools and encouraged science. I took the title “Peter the Great”, but in fact I was Peter I. I was so strong that one time I took a heavy silver plate and roll it like if it was something thin. I died in 1725, because I had gangrene in the bladder. I died at fifty-two years, and I reigned forty-two years.
